Two gas springs open the bottom flap of the listed building
Convenient operation and space-saving installation should be combined
Behind the walls of the half-timbered house (built around 1760) there are certainly many stories hidden that can only be imagined. But what the floor flap on the ground floor willingly reveals is the access to the vaulted basement of the house. This is because 2 gas springs ensure that the flap can be opened and closed with ease and can be held safely and reliably in the open position.
Requirements for the gas springs
Space-saving gas spring installation for use of the staircase exit
The gas springs must be installed so that they do not partially block access to the stairway, which is very narrow at the beginning, in any way when the flap is open. However, this means that the mounting position is not ideal.
Controlled movement of the floor hatch
The gas springs had to be designed in such a way that the flap opens on its own after a slight lifting, after which it can reliably remain open. Otherwise, if the flap was closed in an uncontrolled manner, this would be an enormous source of danger.
Convenient operation of the flap
It must be possible to close the flap again by hand without applying too much force, both from below and from above.
Correct calculation of the gas spring and its fixing points is essential for operating the floor hatch
This means that not only the function as such is incredibly important, but also the comfortable operation. We at DICTATOR support our customers in choosing the right gas spring and determining the right fixing points – and that free of charge!
