Aluminum glass door needs to be fitted with door closer

A normal overhead door closer was ruled out due to the space available above and on the side of the door

The company Bauelemente & Montageservice Bernd Schäfer from Birkenheide near Mannheim, Germany, was asked for help by a customer. An aluminum glass door with a height of 2,430 mm and a width of 1,120 mm needed to be fitted with an overhead door closer so that it would always close on its own. However, the space available on site made this impossible. Even if installation had been possible in the limited space above the door, an overhead door closer would have hit the aluminum frame next to the door at an opening angle of 90°. And a smaller opening width was also not an option.

The inquiry sketch: The aluminum frame next to the door caused major problems, as an overhead door closer would have hit it when the door was opened to 90°. But even a normal door closer DIREKT would not have stood a chance, as the stroke would have been too short.

DICTATOR specified installation dimensions down to the millimetre, which were precisely implemented by Schäfer, a specialist company with many years of experience. The result: a successful installation and a result that satisfied everyone.

We at DICTATOR were very pleased with the e-mail from Schäfer: “The installation went really well. We took your measurements 1:1 and everything fitted perfectly. The bracket for the wall fitted exactly into the corner. The door closes perfectly and the opening force is still within a comfortable range.”

The door closer DIREKT 300 is installed with millimeter precision according to the specifications of DICTATOR technical customer service – and works perfectly.
