When it was windy, the previous door closer gave out and the access gate to the property slammed shut

Gate closer DIREKT can do better: it closes always with at desired speed, even in windy conditions

The solid gate protects the privacy of the homeowners. But it also gives the wind a large target area as a result, all the more so because it is at the end of a small “wind tunnel”. The door previously had another gate closer fitted to it, which closed it under normal circumstances, but failed miserably under wind load. So, the wind sped up the garden door with absolutely no slowdown from the door closer – until it slammed shut loudly. An annoying situation, firstly because of the noise, and secondly because of the risk of accidents and possible damage to the garden door.

The Pahmeier carpenter’s shop in Hamburg had known DICTATOR for many years and asked for a solution straight away. This was promptly delivered by a member of the technical department staff: the gate closer DIREKT. Its integrated hydraulic brake cylinder ensures that the door does not slam shut even under wind load, but instead continues to close at the specified speed. This makes it the ideal solution for doors that are susceptible to wind – but also, of course, for any kind of entrance gates, garden gates, and many other doors.

Nevertheless, there is no need to fear destruction of the gate closer even under extreme gusts of wind: a built-in safety overload valve protects the closer in exceptional situations. In this way, DICTATOR also lives up to their claim to supply sustainable products. They are intended to give the customer many years of trouble-free operation – and thus also protect the environment from needless waste.

The gate closer DIREKT ensures that the gate doesn't slam shut even with wind, but closes always at the desired speed

A perfect target for the wind, because the entrance door is not only solid, but also sits in a kind of small wind tunnel. Since the installation of the gate closer DIREKT, however, the wind does not have a chance and the door closes gently and quietly every time.
