Gate closers DIREKT along the dikes in the Netherlands

The Netherlands is a beautiful, water-rich country surrounded by dikes. Many of these dikes are grazed and protect the land. Otherwise it will be flooded.

Sheep often walk on these dikes. They stamp their paws on the bottom of the dike and they graze on it. That is, they eat not only grass, but also plants and small trees that grow on the dike. Trees and plants destroy the dike with their roots and so we don’t want these trees and plants on the levees.

Self-closing fence gates for the dikes

These dikes are often fenced off to keep sheep from running away. But many of these dikes are public and anyone can walk on them. In doing so, you often see a gate every few hundred meters that you can walk through. So that people don’t leave the gates open and the sheep can wander out, it is important that these gates are self-closing. That is why our gate closer DIREKT are used in many places in the Netherlands. They ensure that the gate closes by itself and the sheep cannot leave the dike.
