But even if our drive solutions last an extremely long time, there comes a time when replacement is unavoidable. At DICTATOR, we do everything we can to keep the effort involved as simple and cost-effective as possible. Depending on the system, some existing components can continue to be used or their installation positions can be kept. Or sometimes, as in the following case, it is enough to simply replace the control unit with a new one.
State-of-the-art control unit Multi Control perfectly matches the 30-year-old drive
A DICTAMAT 4000 with C4 control unit has been reliably opening and closing the double-leaf sliding door in this Lutro paint shop for over 13 years. Both products were developed over 30 years ago. Now a component in the control unit failed and a replacement was no longer available.
The good news for the customer: With the Multi Control, DICTATOR has a control unit in its program that works without any problems even with a rather “old” operator. It was thus enough to just replace the control unit,while the DICTAMAT 4000 remains in service.

- The control unit installed high above can be programmed conveniently from the ground using a tablet

DICTATOR products are not only durable but also extremely versatile. In this case, it was a very heavy radiation protection door that seals off a room with industrial computer tomography. Due to the enormous weight, the highest safety standards must be observed for the motorized movement of such doors. Furthermore, additional input and output messages had to be processed by the control system in order to ensure the smooth operation of the CT system.
The DICTATOR control unit SQUARE 940-2 was the perfect solution to meet all the necessary safety requirements, and it also works perfectly with the drive from another manufacturer.
