Designer forged door with reinforced glass needs sturdy partner to ensure that it always closes securely

High-performance floor spring WAB 180 ensures that the designer door is fully appreciated – and always closes safely

The forge Martin Zacherl in Switzerland is fully committed to the production of special, unique artistic forged objects. They are characterized by the highest professional skills and creativity. And in the process, depending on customer requirements, they then also create quite modern designer pieces such as this apartment entrance door.

The door is completely forged by hand. Great care was taken to ensure that all details necessary for the proper functioning of the door (pivot hinges, latching mechanism, etc.) are completely hidden in the door and are no longer visible after assembly. The glass insert is made of reinforced glass to meet even the highest security requirements. And it should close on its own – without any visible door closer.

A demanding task. Because reinforced glass means heavy weight. After all, the door weighs approx. 350 kg. But DICTATOR had the solution: the floor spring WAB 180, designed for door weights of up to 600 kg. It uses special bearings and the entire interior is filled with oil so that no idle stroke can occur. This means that it can be trusted to close the door with no hesitation.

In this case, the door and the floor spring really do work hand in hand, because the closing speed setting has been optimally matched to the door. And so it almost gives the impression that the door closes all by itself, almost like magic.

350 kg Designertuer mit Bodentuerschliesser WAB

An eye-catcher, the ironwork door with reinforced glass. It should close by itself – but without a visible door closer, and that with a door weight of 350 kg. No problem for the floor spring WAB 180.
