Gate closer makes guinea pig village access gate safe
After all, the access door with ascending hinges is always closed safely and smoothly – without uncontrolled, dangerous slamming
The access gate to the guinea pig village Strohhalm has ascending hinges, as the terrain slopes in the opening direction. Usually these doors close on their own because of the ascending hinges. But, depending on the design of the hinges, there can be problems, e.g. it slams shut without restraint, which can be dangerous and cause serious injuries, especially to young children.
Initially, a DIREKT gate closer with a closing force of 400 N was installed for this application. However, it quickly became apparent that this meant that the force required to open the gate was simply too high. After checking with DICTATOR’s technical customer service, a simple solution was found: the pressure could be reduced. Now the DIREKT gate closer has a closing force of only 100 N, which is definitely enough, and opening is no longer a feat of strength. Regardless of the closing force, the closing speed of each DIREKT can be adjusted so that the door always closes as quickly or slowly as the customer wishes.
Rule of thumb: if a gate with ascending hinges usually closes by itself, then you should always go for a closing force of 100 N on the DIREKT for gates with ascending hinges.
The owners and visitors of the guinea pig village can now enjoy an easy to open and safely closed entrance gate. However, there is unfortunately still no DIREKT in the appropriate size for the guinea pig houses. 🙂
The property is located on a slope and therefore the entrance gate must be equipped with ascending hinges to be able to open.
The closing speed of the gate closer DIREKT can be adjusted exactly to the customer’s needs, so that even doors with ascending hinges close slowly. This prevents doors from slamming shut out of control.
