Entrance hinged gates with ascending hinges can be dangerous when they close
Oil dampers slow them down when closing – preventing the risk of accidents
Here, the beautiful hinged gate worried the owner, because the driveway behind it has a slope of 14%. Therefore, the two gate leaves had to be equipped with ascending hinges so that it could still be opened. The result: when closing, it moves much too fast and slams shut very loudly. The risk of accidents should not be underestimated – and a cause of more frequent repairs and maintenance costs for the gate and its hardware.
The customer searched for a solution. An electric door operator was out of the question. DICTATOR offers a reliable, mechanical solution that doesn’t need electricity and is also easy to install: the oil damper specially designed for hinged gates with ascending hinges. It is attached to the gate and frame and slows down the gate leaf to an individually adjustable speed when closing, so that the gate closes slowly. The damper is equipped with an additional protective tube that prevents dirt accumulation and thus damage to the piston rod. The oil damper works in one direction only, i.e. when closing, so that hardly any force needs to be applied when opening.
Installation is also easy because we at DICTATOR calculate the exact fixing points for each application for our customers free of charge and, if necessary, offer installation hardware as well. In this case, the customer wanted to attach the oil damper directly to the wall, a wish that we were of course happy to take into account when calculating the installation positions – because we take our motto “We’re here to help” seriously and are happy about every well-functioning solution and every satisfied customer!
