A life in pictures

Pictures from my life

Like everyone, I have changed in the course of my life: I go with the fashion trends and I adopt the latest developments, because after all, we all want to get better and better. And in the process, I also see lots of different locations and applications. I don’t just cushion slamming doors, I keep them shut, I hold them open, in a modified form I even work as a mechanical timer. I have also been involved in the development of elevators. You can’t imagine on how many elevators I make sure that the landing doors are always reliably closed so that the elevator can move.

Have you seen me before? I’m not vain, but I’m always happy about photos, because – it has to be said – I always look good. 🙂

Door dampers in use

From office doors to room doors, including in hospitals and hotels, and fire doors to heavy industrial doors: I can be used almost anywhere. We can almost always find a spot for my installation, because DICTATOR and I are always very imaginative. I then pull the doors securely and quietly shut and keep them closed even when it’s windy.

Türdämpfer

Even as neglected as I am here, I still work reliably after more than 40 years. I was photographed here in 1991 at a room door of the Hotel Astoria in Dresden. I did my duty tirelessly since the end of the 1940s, until the hotel was demolished in 1998.

As an exception, this photo does not show me. But it shows how important I am. It was taken in the museum of the castle Burg near Solingen, Germany. Probably it is not an exhibit of the museum, but it looks almost museum-ready. The number at the bottom of the plate is the number of my patent. Since a patent was valid for a maximum of 18 years from the issue date, the photo must date from between 1932 and 1950.

Pictures from the production

Over the years, the look of my production has changed a lot. It has made many technological advances, from strictly handmade in the beginning to a highly automated production today. But one thing has always remained the same: my high quality standards coupled with cost-effective production, so that I always function optimally – and remain affordable, despite my manufacturing in the Netherlands. Because that’s simply where I feel most comfortable.

Promotional material through time

Just like me, the look of my promotional materials has changed over the years. But they have always presented me in the most compelling and visual way possible. And just like my production, my promotional materials are created using the latest technology! You can view my latest, interactive brochure here.
