Loud, slamming sliding doors disrupted therapy sessions at the clinic

Loud, slamming sliding doors have often caused disruption at an autism clinic in Ontario, Canada. But that has now come to an end.

The clinic has equipped all six sliding doors to the therapy rooms with DICTATOR door dampers to minimize disturbing noises. The aim was to create a more pleasant and quieter environment for the children’s therapy.

Before the door dampers were installed, there were always problems with loud noises caused by slamming sliding doors. This was particularly unpleasant for the children who are sensitive to noise. As the therapy rooms are all next to each other, the loud slamming of the doors also disturbed the sessions in the neighboring rooms. An initial attempt to find a solution with cushions on the door rails failed because the doors could no longer close completely, compromising privacy and safety.

Together with the Canadian DICTATOR representative Eklecmatic, the appropriate door dampers for the sliding doors were determined and installed. V 1600 door dampers with 20 N spring strength plus special mounting brackets for sliding doors were used here.

This solution ensures that the doors are cushioned over the last few centimetres and close gently and quietly. The loud slamming of doors is now a thing of the past and both the children and the clinic staff are happy about the quieter environment in the clinic.
