Folding doors are no problem for the sliding door closer DICTAMAT 50

Access door to the bathroom has to close at once – but slowly and in a controlled way

In the Vinzenz von Paul Hospital in Rottweil (Germany) the door to the patients’ room and to the bathroom get in the way of each other due to structural reasons. It was not possible to open the door to the room whenever the door to the bathroom was not closed completely. They needed a solution to automatically close the folding door to the bathroom badly, but it could only be done mechanically, i.e. without needing electricity, and as user friendly as possible, i.e. slowly and in a controlled way.

This problem was solved by a modified sliding door closer DICTAMAT 50 KP. The pull rope is diverted by two rope pulleys and fixed to the front folding element. It reliably pulls the door into the closed position. The closing speed is continuously adjusted directly on the DICTAMAT 50 KP. Now the door closes on its own, but so slowly that the patient can enter or leave the bathroom without any rush.

The solution was accomplished together with the companies Petersen and Türen Geiger.
