For the automation of a sliding gate Assa Abloy relies on DICTATOR

Solution needed for automation of a sliding gate in state-of-the-art production facility in Croatia

In 1996, the company Metalind was founded in Bjelovar (Croatia). Since 2011 it has been part of the global Assa Abloy Group. in Bjelovar, the company manufactures fire and smoke doors, security doors, soundproof doors, radiation doors, bulletproof doors and smoke and fire curtains in a state-of-the-art production facility certified according to the current European standards.

In one of the large buildings, a sliding gate was installed to separate the production and storage areas because of dust, noise, etc. With a size of 5,590 x 4,490 mm (W x H) and a weight of 2,150 kg, this was no lightweight that could be easily opened and closed by hand. Therefore, the company Super Kljuc, the DICTATOR sales office in Croatia, was asked for a simple, reliable and versatile solution for the automation of the gate.

DICTAMAT Move with control system SQUARE 940-2 ensures smooth operation

The requirements:

• Pedestrian and vehicle traffic, which means that appropriate safety is required
• Open, close, stop with impulse operation

The DICTAMAT MultiMove operator system is extraordinarily flexible, as both DC and AC motors in a wide range of power ratings can be flanged to the gearbox developed by DICTATOR. In this case, a 0.37 kW motor was selected for the Assa Abloy sliding gate, which has sufficient power in reserve to ensure that the gate always opens and closes safely.

Safety is ensured by light barriers.

On one side of the door, the door is operated via a 3-fold push-button. On the other side of the door, operation can be carried out directly via the touchpad on the SQUARE 940-2 control unit.
