Closing springs as solution for lockers in University library

Functioning lockers in the library of the Frankfurt University

The lockers in the university library in Frankfurt caused problems often: the doors remained open and many students got caught on them when passing, especially on the lower doors. The consequences: ripped out hinges, lockers out of order and permanent repair costs.

Until the company Kiehnel-Saueressig found a solution together with DICTATOR: on every locker door a DICTATOR PICCOLO closing spring was fitted (usually it closes ‘real’ doors). In this case the closing spring had to be mounted on the inside of the locker door. Therefore the company Kiehnel-Saueressig designed a special construction to transmit the force of the closing spring to the door.

The solution has been tested for more than one year and it stands the test! There is no more trouble with out-of-order lockers and the permanent maintenance costs have ceased to exist. An effective contribution to saving expenses in the field of education!
